Description
Surveillance-rated, meaning firmware tuned for continuous writing from many camera feeds at once and a workload allowance far above any desktop disk. Seagate rates the SkyHawk family for up to 64 HD camera streams and 180TB per year.
This capacity suits a small recorder holding a couple of weeks of footage. Fitting a BarraCuda to that DVR is the classic mistake: it is not built to write around the clock.
