SanDisk SSD Plus 2.5" SATA SSD, Up to 530MB/s Read, SATA III, 240GB–2TB

The entry rung of SanDisk's SATA range, bought to retire a spinning disk in a machine with no usable M.2 slot. Boot and application load times improve sharply; write speed under a long transfer is where it gives ground.

If the drive will hold a working set rather than just an operating system, the SanDisk Ultra 3D NAND Internal SSD is meaningfully quicker on writes and carries a longer warranty for a modest premium.
